SEO, AEO and GEO: the visibility triangle
Search, AI answers and generative summaries are one visibility surface — not separate channels.

In 2026 brand visibility no longer fits one channel. The same user searches Google, asks ChatGPT and reads AI Overviews in one day. SEO delivers findability; AEO quotability; GEO citation. Splitting them across agencies or calendars burns signals — the same page must be crawlable, summarisable and entity-consistent at once.
Three layers, one strategy
SEO governs indexing, speed and internal linking. AEO supplies direct-answer blocks, FAQ schema and question-led headings for answer engines. GEO keeps your face in the Knowledge Graph — name, services, location, related entities — consistent. At Kass Agency in Antalya all three layers share one content calendar; a single article ranks, gets quoted and earns citation candidates.
In practice every new page must pass three tests: Can Googlebot crawl it cleanly? Can ChatGPT summarise this paragraph in 40 words? Will an AI Overview name your brand and service correctly? If any answer is no, the page is incomplete — traffic or visibility arrives from one channel while the others stay silent.
SEO foundation: crawlable ground
Without a technical SEO audit upper layers cannot stand. Robots.txt and sitemap alignment, canonical chains, Core Web Vitals targets and mobile fitness form the triangle's base. If index coverage drops in Search Console, AEO and GEO work is wasted — the page is not on the list.
- site: operator and URL Inspection for index status
- LCP < 2.5s, INP < 200ms, CLS < 0.1 targets
- Organization + WebSite + FAQPage JSON-LD
- Internal link mesh: hub pages to deep content
AEO layer: quotable answers
Use the AEO roadmap to map target questions; produce one canonical answer page per question. A 40–60 word definition up top, evidence and examples below. Structured data makes that answer machine-actionable. Becoming a source in ChatGPT and Gemini requires E-E-A-T signals — author, date, source links.
Do not treat AEO as separate from blog posts. Every guide's first H2 should answer the question; snippet and AI answer should draw from the same sentence. Our AEO service embeds this format in production.
GEO layer: entity and citation
The GEO guide explains how generative engines pick sources. Your brand name, service definition and geography should repeat with the same sentence structure on Wikipedia, LinkedIn, press and your site. Conflicting NAP or slogans weaken GEO signals.
Local SEO Antalya adds the local leg: LocalBusiness schema, Google Business Profile, area landings. GEO and local SEO work together — global citation plus maps and local AI answers.
Design and measurement
SEO and design must share one table. Hero imagery sets LCP; font weight affects INP; layout shift drives CLS. Speed budget is spent at design approval — fixing in code is expensive.
Measurement is three-channel: organic rank and clicks (Search Console), answer share and quotes (manual plus third-party monitoring), citations and mentions (brand search, AI source lists). One monthly report should place all three metrics side by side; a drop in one shows which edge weakened.
- Weekly: index and CWV check
- Monthly: rank plus snippet on target queries
- Quarterly: AI answer scan and citation audit
- Annual: entity consistency and NAP audit
A missing edge unbalances the whole triangle — traffic arrives, citation does not.
The visibility triangle is not a one-off project; it is a continuous loop of content, technical and entity discipline. Our process builds that loop from discovery to launch; request a visibility audit via our contact page.
